PURPOSE:To prevent dew condensation on the surface of a sensor and a lens by outputting an excitation controlling signal from a controlling part with microcomputer to a motor and an illuminating means, and generating heat from the motor and a fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION:At first, a low voltage is applied to the controlling part with microcomputer from an electric power source 17, so as to start it, and at the same time, an operation panel part 2 and an I/O controlling part (LSI) 26 are connected by turning on a panel switch 23, and besides, a CCD sensor 15 and a document image processor (DIPP) 21 are connected. Then, when a scheduled time at which a facsimile is used is inputted in the operation panel part 2, the microcomputer 18 in the control part 3 with a microcomputer makes a RAM 20 store the said time. Then, when the time necessary for preheating before the scheduled time comes, a motor excitation control current 25 and a light control signal 24 are outputted from the I/O controlling part 26, and the excitation of the motor 8 and the preheating of the fluorescent lamp 10 are performed.
