Inter alia, this is to be prevented reliably. In the device according to the invention for the monitoring of two individual threads, a pivoting body is coupled to a mass element. The latter is arranged at a distance from the pivot axis and is movable relative to the pivoting body. Even under only slight deflections, the pivoting body commences a pivoting movement, so that the remaining individual thread is reliably broken. The device described can be used on spinning machines which work by the so-called Siro-Spun< TM > process.
