PURPOSE:To obtain the titled electrode containing a specific electroconductivity- providing substance dispersed in a main component consisting of Si3N4 or Sialon and having excellent reactivity with a glass and oxidation resistance. CONSTITUTION:Si3N4 or Sialon is blended with 20-70vol% one or more kind of compound (e.g. TiN) selected from carbide, nitride, and oxide of IV a group, Va group and VIIa group of the periodic table as an electrically conductive substance and the blend is molded and sintered in a nitrogen atmosphere to provide the aimed glass melting and heat insulating electrode. |
