The device which is suitable for the production of annular sausage skins is composed of a fixed dry channel with an inlet and an outlet and a rotatable cylindrical supporting element which can be displaced through the dry channel through the said inlet to the outlet and is intended to support the inflated tubular skin which is guided through the dry channel in a helical fashion. To permit the continuous production method to be used, this supporting element is composed of a multiplicity of cylindrical individual segments which can be rotated about their longitudinal axes and are arranged one behind the other. These segments are connected to one another, can be moved jointly in a circulating and continuous fashion in the fashion of an endless tube and can be pivoted towards one another to form an angle of less than 180@.
