PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption for driving a light emitting means, by allowing a light beam to emit in a shorter period than a one unit data period of a serial signal, and transmitting the unit data concerned. CONSTITUTION:A transmitting device 10 is formed by a light emission diode 12 being a light emitting means, and a driving circuit 13 being a driving means. The driving circuit 13 contains an AND circuit 16 for outputting AND of a signal inputted from a terminal 14 and a signal inputted from a terminal 15, a differentiation circuit 17 consisting of a resistance 17a and a capacitor 17b for forming the differential waveform of an output of the AND circuit 16, and a Schmitt trigger circuit 18 for bringing an output of the differentiating circuit 17 to waveform shaping. In such a way, a period in which a light emission diode 12 emits a light beam becomes shorter than a one unit data period T1, and the power consumption is reduced remarkably. |
