PURPOSE:To simplify the shape of the container of a superconducting coil device and reduce the cost and suppress the evaporation of liquid helium by a method wherein the coil device is composed of a coil which is formed by winding a superconducting wire with a high thermal conductivity and a part of which is immersed in the liquid helium and a lead wire which is branched out from the part of the coil immersed in the liquid helium. CONSTITUTION:A superconducting wire 6 which is wound into a coil is given a heat conduction effect and the temperature of the part 4 of the coil in helium gas is made to be close to the temperature of the part 5 of the coil in liquid helium so as to make the operation in superconducting state possible. Moreover, the branching part 10 of a coil lead is always kept in the liquid helium to prevent heat from flowing directly into the coil from a lead wire 11. With this constitution, the temperature rise of the coil can be limited and the coil device can be operated even if a part of the coil is exposed in the helium gas. |
