A reproduced signal is applied to a limiter to which a reference voltage is applied to produce pulsed output signals of opposing phase. These signals are applied to sawtooth generator circuits with the same time constant and an error signal is produced by subtraction of maximum value circuit outputs. The error is fedback to the limiter as a reference voltage. The maximum value signal is compared with a reference value to produce a speed control signal. A differentiator and phase locked loop with an oscillator and comparator also provide signals for the speed control and motor drive circuit.
