PURPOSE:To facilitate gap depth working by run surface polishing by inserting a core chip whose both surfaces are polished into the slit of a slider, making glass to flow in and fixing a core chip, and then carrying out gap formation, track width working, and then slider shape working and fixing a back bar provided with winding. CONSTITUTION:A floating type magnetic head which floats over a magnetic recording medium and performs recording and reproduction is manufactured by forming a slit groove partially in the slider 1 made of a nonmagnetic material and inserting the magnetic core chip 3 of a magnetic material with a gap into the slit groove. At this time, one magnetic core chip 3 whose both surfaces are polished is inserted into the slit of the slider 1 made of the nonmagnetic material and the glass 2 is made to flow in to fix the core chip 3, and then the gap formation and track width working wherein a track part is positioned on one side of the core chip 3 are carried out; and the slider shape working is performed and the back bar 19 provided with the winding is fixed with an adhesive. Consequently, stable and high quality is secured and the slider working, core chip working, and winding working are performed with high efficiency. |
