PURPOSE:To measure a deviation of the angle of a section from the right angle very easily, by a method wherein a thin light beam for reference of optical axis is made incident on the cut section and the reflected light thereof is projected to a screen to be rotated around the optical axis. CONSTITUTION:Thin reference light beam from a light source 3 is made incident on an end face 2 of an optical fiber 1 from the direction deviated from the optical axis of the fiber 1. While the light beam reflected on the end face 2 is projected to a screen 4, the optical fiber 1 is turned around the optical axis. When the end face 2 is at the right angle to the optical axis, a light spot on the screen 4 stays at one point. Otherwise, when it is not at the right angle, the reflected beam makes a precession motion with the rotation of the fiber 1 to draw a circle on the screen 4. Thus, the deviation in the angle is measured by reading the diameter of the circle. |
