4-acylresorcin ethers of formula in which R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 have the meanings indicated in the description and their salts have anti- allergic and anti-inflammatory properties. They are prepared for example by reacting a compound of formula: in which the R'4, R'5 and R'7 residues represent amino groups, an R4' or R5' residue which is different from these represents an R9 residue and an R7' residue which is different from these indicates an R10' residue or a salt thereof with a compound of formula in which R'8 indicates a carboxy group in the case in point esterified or treated with an amide or 5-tetrazolyl in the case in point protected in the 1 position and X7 indicates a carboxyl group, in the case in point esterified, treated with amide, anhydride or when R'8 indicates a 5-tetrazolyl protected in the 1 position, a group 1, a carboxy group present in the form of salt and in the case in point the protective group in the 1 position is dissociated from an R8 tetrazolyl group.
