PURPOSE:To improve the fastness, resistance to transferring, resistance to stains, etc. of an formed image, by a method wherein a dye holding layer containing a dye shown by a specific formula is provided on one surface of a substrate sheet to form a thermal transfer sheet. CONSTITUTION:On one surface of a substrate sheet, a dye holding layer containing a dye shown by a formula I (where X1, X2 represent two alkyl groups, alkoxy groups, or halogen atoms existing at the para- or meta-position, R1, R2 represent hydrogen atom, one or more alkyl groups, alkoxy groups, halogen atoms, hydroxyl groups, amino groups, alkylamino groups, acylamino groups, sulfonylamino groups, aminocarbonyl groups, or nitro groups, and R3, R4 represent alkyl group) is provided to form a thermal transfer sheet. The thermal transfer sheet is superior in heat transferring properties and in dyeing properties and coloring properties to a material to be transferred. |
