<p>PURPOSE:To detect the rotation angle deviation of backup rolls and to safely and surely detect a roll eccentricity by reflecting and receiving generated ultrasonic waves by respective reflection members on the end face of backup rolls and comparing the received waves with rotation pulses of work rolls. CONSTITUTION:Reflected waves on reflectors 10, 11 on respective end faces of backup rolls 1, 4 are received by ultrasonic type access switches 8, 9 are converted by interface circuits 12, 13, and are sent to an angle arithmetic unit 7. Rotation angle deviations thetaB, thetaT of backup rolls 1, 4 are detected by sending signals of a rotation pulse generator 15 of work rolls 2, 3 to the arithmetic unit 7. Therefore, a roll eccentricity is more safely and surely detected compared with the rotation angle detection for the backup rolls by a conventional pulse generator and the thickness variations of a rolled stock are accurately found.</p> |
