PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to scroll an image plane to be trimmed and to increase the number of freedom of trimming operation by providing a trimming specification picture, displaying an object image on the picture, and moving a trimming frame and trimming the picture. CONSTITUTION:When a pattern is trimmed in the layout frame 6 after the completion of the trimming and layout of the pattern 3, the frame 6 is defined on the layout picture X. Namely, the shape, size, direction, and position of the pattern to be laid out are specified to define the desired frame 6. Then, the input image is displayed on the trimming specification picture Y for the trimming operation and then the trimming frame 7 is defined on the picture Y to specify the size, direction, and position. Lastly, the pattern of the frame 7 is laid out and display in the frame 6. In such a case, the frame 7 disappears and the frame 6 is displayed in desired color with desired line width as specified. The frames 6 and 7 are in similar relation, so the frame 7 is only enlarged, reduced, or rotated to easily perform the layout. |
