PURPOSE:To speed up division by dividing the reciprocal of a divisor into shift data for determining a decimal point position and reciprocal data for securing the accuracy of shift data by a dividing circuit, and storing them in different memories. CONSTITUTION:A latch A1 latches dividend data (a) and a latch B2 latches divisor data (b); and the divisor data latched by the latch B2 is applied as an address to momories A3 and B4. On the other hand, the memory A3 outputs shift data C and the memory B4 outputs reciprocal data (d); and the data C is applied to one input of a multiplier A5 and the dividend data latched by the latch A1 is applied to the other input. Then the multiplier A5 multiplies the applied data C by the dividend data and applies the lower-order 16 bits to one input of a multiplier B6 as output data and the reciprocal data (d) outputted by the memory B4 is applied to the other input. Then, the multiplier B6 multiplies the output value of the multiplier A5 by the reciprocal data (d). |
