The invention relates to a container for food products, having a cylindrical or straight prismatic shape with a bottom and an opening which is arranged opposite the bottom and corresponds essentially to the bottom in extent and contour. It is characterised in that the container has at the bottom outer edge a peripheral recess which corresponds in shape and extent to the shape and extent of the edge zone of the container in the region of the opening, such that the edge zone of one container can be engaged with the recess of another container. The containers according to the invention are particularly suitable for packaging dairy produce, sweet meals and confectionery and, after use, can be used as building blocks and combined to form a building set.
