摘要 PURPOSE:To increase a feed speed and to provides an increased life for a cutter, by a method wherein both sides of a steel sheet are measured in the direction of width in a position right before a cutter by means of a dial gauge, and a feed speed is controlled in a way to match the high margin side. CONSTITUTION:In a steel sheet 1 fed in the direction of an arrow mark, a margin on the direction of width is measured in positions right before cutters 4 and 5 by means of dial gauges 2 and 3 with a roller, and measurements are inputted to a control device 7. Since a chip thickness is determined by means of a margin, a feed speed, and the number of blades, the diameter, and the number of revolutions of each of the cutters, the feed speed is calculated from measurements of the margins on both sides by means of the control device 7 so that the ship thickness is adjusted approximately to 0.2-0.3mm, and operation is effected at the feed speed being slower. In this case, a delay between the dial gauges 2 and 3 and the cutters 4 and 5 are followed up by mounting a time delay device to the control device 7, and a cutter life is prevented from decrease by increasing a cutting speed even in case a chip thickness on the low margin side is below 0.2mm.
