PURPOSE:To constitute an economical information processing system having a high use efficiency of system by transferring stored contents of a disc device to a back-up memory during the quiescent time of the write operation to prevent the information processing system from being monopolized for transfer operation. CONSTITUTION:When a SAVE command 101 is inputted from a processor to a register 11 and a control part 12, the register 11 stores a block address included in the SAVE command and waits for a command from the control part 12. If the write operation of a disc device 14 is performed at this time, the control part 12 does not execute the SAVE command; and after the end of the write operation, the control part 12 receives the block address from the register 11 and instructs a buffer memory 13, the disc device 14, and a backup memory 15 to perform the transfer operation and executes the SAVE command. If a next WRITE command 103 is inputted to the control part 12 while the transfer operation is executed, the transfer operation is interrupted in a break of the block in the transfer operation to execute the write operation, and the transfer operation is executed again simultaneously with the end of the write operation.
