PURPOSE:To permit the same engine output to be obtained for the same accelerator position, by previously studying the voltage of a load sensor in an idle position of a fuel control lever and the number of feed steps of a step motor to a full-load position. CONSTITUTION:A control lever 5 in a governor 3 of a fuel injection pump is controlled by a step motor 1 through a rod 10. The step motor 1 is controlled by a control unit, and the control unit, which calculates a target position of the control lever 5 in accordance with the depression amount of an accelerator pedal, performs a feedback control on the basis of a load sensor 12 which detects the position of the control lever 5. A detection value of the load sensor 12 in the idle time and a number of steps of the step motor 1, till it reaches the full-load position, are stored in memory, and a relation of the load sensor voltage to the number of steps is obtained from a value of both the load sensor and the step motor.
