PURPOSE:To promote the engine warming-up, by arranging a cylinder under an inclined condition, communicating a high-level water jacket for a cylinder block with a high-level water jacket for a cylinder head, and discharging a refrigerant in the water jacket for the cylinder block at cold starting. CONSTITUTION:In case of adaptation to a V-shaped 6-cylinder engine 1, a water jacket 4 is constituted of a cylinder block water jacket 6 surrounding a V-shaped cylinder 5 and a cylinder head water jacket 8 so formed as to cover a combustion chamber wall 7 or the like. Both the water jackets 6 and 8 are communicated with each other through a plurality of communication holes 9, but the communication holes 9 are formed only on a high level side due to the inclination of the cylinder 5. At cold starting of the engine, solenoid valves 30 and 32 are opened to discharge a liquid refrigerant in the water jacket 4 and a condenser 15 to a reservoir tank 22 by a water head difference. Thus, the refrigerant around the cylinder 5 is removed to thereby promote engine warming-up. |
