PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of hunting, by a method wherein, when the opening of a throttle valve is controlled to a target value, the speed of an on-off valve is set in response to a deviation between an actual opening and a target opening, and when the deviation is below a given value, a speed is set to a given value. CONSTITUTION:Based on detecting values from driving ring sensors 24 and 25 on both sides and float ring sensors 28 and 29 on both sides, an electronic control circuit 30 performs feedback control on an auxiliary throttle valve 10 on the upper stream of a main throttle valve 8 with the aid of a DC motor 11 so that maximum acceleration can be provided without the occurrence of an acceleration slip during acceleration of a vehicle. In this case, when a difference between a detecting value from an auxiliary throttle sensor 13 and a target opening exceeds a given deviation, the speed of an on-off valve is set to a high value, and when decreased to a value within the given deviation, an on-off valve speed is controlled to a given value.
