PURPOSE:To avoid the suspension of a welding work as far as possible by inexpensive means by releasing the pressurizing of a pair of electrode chips and eliminating the power failure by reciprocating the press-pinching and releasing in case of detecting the power failure. CONSTITUTION:When a contactor 89 detects a power failure, a pair of electrode chips 83, 83 pinching with press the body 101 to be welded are first released. The same welding place is thereafter pinched with press again by the electrode chips 83, 83 and the motion of the release and pinch are repeatedly performed until the normal energization is detected. In this way the dust, etc. causing the power failure is destroyed by the repeat of the release and pinch or is wiped off to pass a normal current. Consequently the suspension of the welding work can be avoided strenuously with the inexpensive means of changing one part of the program of a timer 20.
