PURPOSE:To suppress deformation of the entire insulation layer at forming of upper magnetic film by forming the insulation layer of the uppermost layer at least among inter-layer insulation layers in a core by a substance whose glass transition temperature is specific. CONSTITUTION:A thin film magnetic consists sequentially of a lower magnetic substance layer 2 such as a 'Permalloy(R)', a gap insulation layer 3, 1st insulator layer 4-1, a conductor 5 such as Al, Cu or Au, 2nd insulator layer 4-2, insulation layer 4-3 of the uppermost layer, an upper magnetic layer 6 and a protection layer 7. At least the layer 4-3 is formed by a substance whose glass transition temperature is 280 deg.C or over and preferably a compound heated and cured selected by a polyimide resin, especially a polyimide front body. In using the said substance, the manufacturing yield is improved and a thin film magnetic head with high reliability is obtained.
