PURPOSE:To enable a cartridge to be taken out while a disk is rotating, to improve operability, and to reduce the access time of an automatic loading mechanism, by providing a brake part in the cartridge, and using the brake part also as a cleaner. CONSTITUTION:At the R/W area of a disk 2 in the inner side of a cartridge 1, a cleaner member 3 is mounted, and at inner and outer peripheries other than the R/W area, brake materials 4 are mounted. When the cartridge 1 is ejected, an operator depresses an eject switch 8 at the front of a device. Then, a loading mechanism is operated, and the cartridge 1 can be taken out from the device. At such a time, the disk 2 is rotated in the cartridge 1, but, when the cartridge 1 is raised upward, the disk 2 is stopped due to friction with the brake materials 4 of the inner and outer peripheries, and the R/W area part is cleaned up at this time by the cleaner member 3.
