PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of image defects and to improve the cleanability of an electrophotographic image forming member by forming a protective surface layer of a specified material on the image forming member. CONSTITUTION:The protective surface layer of a light receiving member is made of a non-single crystalline material contg. boron nitride having a four- coordination structure and boron nitride having a three-coordination structure in a mixed state and further contg. a valence electron controller so as to stabilize the electrical characteristics. Thus, the occurrence of image defects such as image flow is prevented and the cleanability can be improved. |
