PHOTORECEPTIVE MEMBER HAVING IMPROVED IMAGE FORMING FUNCTION

摘要

PURPOSE:To maintain stable spectral sensitivity by setting the difference in refractive index between the surface layer consisting of an amorphous silicon material and photosensitive layer at a prescribed value or below to increase the concn. of carbon atoms toward a free surface side. CONSTITUTION:The carbon atoms are distributed in the surface layer to such a state as to leave the difference (DELTAn) to the negligible extent in the processing of image formation between the refractive index of the surface layer 204 and the refractive index of the photosensitive layer 203 at the boundary between the layer 204 and the layer 203 and to increase the distribution concn. of the carbon atoms beginning from the boundary toward the free surface 207 side of the surface layer. The reflection of light at the boundary 208 is considerably decreased and the problems arising from the relation of the surface layer with the photosensitive layer are solved. The always stable image having high quality is obtd. with the above-mentioned photoreceptive member without posing problems such as after-image and in sensitivity in the stage of using said member as an electrophotographic sensitive material for high-speed continuous image formation. The range of DELTAn is preferably DELTAn<=0.62.
