PURPOSE:To make multifarious applications performable, by setting up plural rack gears consisting of the endless tooth group formed around the outer circum ferential surface of a bar base body concentrically at intervals, in case of a shaft body for a rotary reciprocator. CONSTITUTION:Plural rack gears 71-73 consisting of a group of endless-form gears 5 at the specified pitch d1 are set up concentrically around the outer circumferential surface of a bar base body 4 at intervals D1. And, a pinion gear 6 is engaged with the rack gear 71, while gears 81 and 82 are pivoted in a position where these rack tears 71-73 are engaged with one another free of rotation in advance, and when the pinion gear 6 is rotated toward an arrow a11, the whole shaft is moved in a Z1 direction, making the gear 82 being engaged with the rack gear 73 rotate in a b1 direction. If it is moved as far as the specified distance, the rack gear 72 is engaged with the gear 81, making it rotate, whereby the gear 82 is stopped as its engagement comes off. Thus, various gears are interlockable with each rack gear from all directions and, what is more, a time lag can be given to them, so that multifarious applications are made performable in this way.
