PURPOSE:To conserve energy by enabling the exhaust gas recirculation of a flash-off zone, by forming a painting booth into such a U-turn structure that the flash-off zone is arranged to a U-turn part, and a front painting zone and a rear painting zone are allowed to be adjacent to each other at the outlet and inlet of the painting booth. CONSTITUTION:A painting booth 11 is formed into a U-turn structure and painting zones 16, 18 before and behind a flash-off zone 17 performing the evaporation of the solvent in a paint film are made adjacent to each other and allowed to communicate with each other by a communication passage 19a. Further, an exhaust gas recirculation apparatus for recirculating the exhaust gas from the flash-off zone 17 is provided to the flash-off zone 17. Even if pressure difference due to air supply quantity and exhaust gas quantity is generated at the time of work in the painting zones 16, 18, only air flows through the communication passage 19 and no oblique stream is generated in the flash-off zone 17. Therefore, no paint mist flows-in and the recirculation of the exhaust gas in the flash-off zone 17 is enabled.
