PURPOSE:To prevent the short-circuit in the liquid due to phosphoric acid or the like between an output terminal board and clamping metal fitting by projecting the insulating plate of a cell body on at least the lower clamping metal fitting side thereof from the side surface of the cell body and installing a groove on the lower surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:An output terminal board 2, insulating plate 3 and clamping metal fitting 4 are installed on the upper and lower ends of a cell body 1 respectively and assembled to form a fuel cell. In this case, the insulating plate of the cell body 1 at least on the lower clamping metal fitting side thereof is projected from the side surface of the cell body 1 and a groove 6 is formed on the lower surface of the projected portion to form an insulating plate 3a. And the dropping of phosphoric acid 5 or the like along the side surface of the cell body 1 is stopped at the groove 6. Therefore, since the phosphoric acid 5 or the like in not attained to the clamping metal fitting 4 at the lower portion of the cell body 1 so that it is possible to prevent the short circuit in the liquid between the output terminal board 2 and the lower portion clamping metal fitting 4 so as to improve the insulating characteristic. |
