An electromagnetic filter (4) is specified which consists of a tubular element (7) which is twisted about its longitudinal axis. The tubular element (7) is a section of a rectangular electromagnetic waveguide. It is equipped with inductive short-circuiting elements (8) which project into its interior. Mounting flanges (9, 10) are fitted at both ends. As a result of the twisting, the mutually corresponding axes of the two end openings are rotated through 90 DEG . <IMAGE>
