PURPOSE:To attain the superposition coding even to a burst error by reproducing internally the check symbol of the superposed code in order to avoid a pseudo error produced from separation between the superposing code and the superposed code from spreading over the entire superposing code. CONSTITUTION:The data stored in a coding memory 11 are coded by a Cc coder 14 and added with check symbols of each column. At the same time, the row coding is carried out with addition of the check bits of each row. A superposition coding circuit 16 superposes a single symbol of the Uy code word which are previously coded a Uy coder 12 every time the Cr coding is performed. While a burst error is added to a memory 8 for decoding RAM and received at the receiver side. A superposition decoding circuit 24 separates the single symbol between the Cr and Uy reception words as soon as a Cr decoder 21 starts the Cr decoding operation. The separated single symbol is transferred to a Uy reproducer 19 to reproduce the Uy reception word and reproduces the information which is decoded by a Uy decoder 20 and sent at the transmitter side.
