The invention relates to a compound of the formula (I) A-NH-@- (CH2)n, -N-(CH2)n, - @-NH-A wherein n min is 1, 2, 3 or 4 and X is S or S-S- where each A is <CHEM> where Y is H, Cl or Br, and preferably when used as a flame retardant at least one Y is Cl or Br or <CHEM> where n<2> is 0, 1 and n<3> is 0, 1 R min , R<2> and R<3> are H, or straight or branched alkyl of 1 to 8 carbons, or <CHEM> where Y is the same as defined above. The new compounds are suitable for use in polymers as synergists for antioxidants or as antioxidants per se. The invention furthermore concerns articles of manufacture made of polymers which comprise compounds of formula (I). |
