<p>A control system for a continuously variable transmission for a motor vehicle has a line pressure control valve (40) having a spool (42) for controlling oil supplied to a cylinder (10) of a driven pulley (8) to change the transmission ratio. The control system operates to increase the line pressure when the vehicle stops. The increased line pressure actuates the cylinder (10) so as to increase the transmission ratio.</p> |
