PURPOSE:To more exactly grasp an outline of a sentence of other language by replacing a work of other language consisting of a phonetic symbol with a KANJI (Chinese character) being an ideograph, and also, displaying the word of other language corresponding to its KANJI along with the KANJI. CONSTITUTION:At the time of a sentence of other language (for example, English) than a language for using a KANJI (Chinese character) is inputted from a keyboard 1 by a phonetic symbol such as the alphabet, etc., its sentence is stored temporarily in a RAM 40 by a CPU 30. Subsequently, with regard to one word each of the inputted sentence, the CPU retrieves whether a word of Japanese language exists in a dictionary floppy disk stored in accordance with said other language or not. If it does not exist in a dictionary floppy disk 20A, it is displayed as it remains inputted, and if it exists in the dictionary floppy disk 20A, it is replaced with its word and a word of Japanese language is displayed on a position where its word is placed. Also, under this word, the corresponding other language is displayed on a display device 50.
