PURPOSE:To obtain a dispersibility improver excellent in an ability to give retentivity of dispersibility to pigments, matting agents, etc., by using a polyurethane resin synthesized from a specified polycaprolactone copolyester polyol and an isocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:A dihydric alcohol (e.g., neopentyl glycol) is reacted with a polybasic acid (derivative) or its lower alkyl ester [e.g., maleic acid (anhydride)] and epsilon-caprolactone or 6-hydroxycaptoic acid or its lower alkyl ester to obtain a polycaprolactone copolyester polyol having a content of oxycaproyl unit of the formula of 40-95wt%, an acid value <=5mg KOH/g and an average MW of 500-10,000.
