PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode active material suitable for secondary battery by forming a poly-para-phenylene film by anodic oxidation polymerization of benzene or its derivative in an organic solvent containing electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A poly-para-phenylene film is obtained by anodic oxidation poplymerization of benzene or its derivative in an organic solvent containing an ion selected from a group comprising divalent copper ion, divalent silver ion, trivalent iron ion, trivalent manganese ion, ruthanium ion, rhenium ion, and rhodium ion in addition to ordinary electrolyte. The poly-para-phenylene film obtained has uniform smooth surface structure, and is flexible, and its shape is freely changed according to the shape of an electrode used in the anodic oxidation polymerization. As a result, this film is suitable as an electrode active material for a secondary battery. |
