摘要 PURPOSE:To improve steerability during crawling forward propulsion and backward propulsion by supporting a propeller shaft exposed outside a ship with a shaft bracket and forming a rudder having a streamlined cross section behind it together with the bracket. CONSTITUTION:A connecting bar 8 is connected to the tip of an arm 41, and arm lengths from a rudder shafts 40 and 60 to the connecting bar 8 are made equal, then a steering force is transmitted from the arm 41 to the rudder shaft 40 by a hydraulic steering gear 7 to rotate a rudder 4, and a rotating force is transmitted to a rudder shaft 60 via an arm 61 from the connecting bar 8 to rotate a rudder 6 to the same angle as the rudder 4. Accordingly, during forward propulsion, the accelerated stream from a propeller 2 hits the rudder 4 to generate a turning force, also the inflow stream of the propeller 2 is deflected by the rudder 6 to generate a turning force, thus steerability is improved even during crawling forward propulsion. During backward propulsion, the inflow stream of the propeller 2 is deflected by the rudder 4, and the accelerated stream from the propeller 2 hits the rudder 6, thus steerability is improved. Since the rudder 6 is arranged behind a shaft bracket 5, the stream is rectified and a vortex is prevented, and propulsion resistance is decreased.
