PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy at low cost by adopting the permanent constitution for a pressure provision part bringing a rotary mechanism and a signal scanning element of the assembly into contact with a rotary recording medium under a prescribed contact pressure and adopting the simple structure for a support member of a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:A support member C and a base E of a signal scanner H are coupled strongly by the attracting force of permanent magnets 26, 29. A permanent magnet 30 fixed to a fixed part SA and the permanent magnet 29 fixed to a moving part VA are attracted by the magnetic attracting part and the moving part VA is held freely turnably to the fixed part SA while the moving part VA and the fixed part SA are coupled strongly. Then the pressing force of the signal scanner H against the recording medium is adjusted by the attracting force of the permanent magnets 29, 30. Through the constitution above, the signal scanner assembly at low cost and with high accuracy is obtained.
