摘要 |
PURPOSE:To perform uniform electrostatic charging without depending upon the film thickness of a photosensitive layer by exposing a photosensitive material made of a specific material as an image forming member preliminarily to light which has the necessary quantity of light. CONSTITUTION:A selenium-arsenic electrophotographic sensitive body is used as the image forming member. This photosensitive body is exposed preliminarily to light which contains a long-wavelength component with >=700nm wavelength more than a short-wavelength component with <=700nm wavelength by >=2 times in terms of light intensity and whose light quantity is >=200 times as large as the quantity of half-attenuated light of the selenium-arsenic photosensitive body. The photosensitive body is charged uniformly and electrostatically by this exposure without depending upon the film thickness of a photosensitive layer and the need for troublesome operation, e.g. to adjust a uniform charger according to the film thickness of the photosensitive layer at the time of replacement of the photosensitive body is eliminated. |
