PURPOSE:To prevent dispersion in the suction gas charging efficiency of each cylinder in an engine having two suction ports per cylinder by providing a control valve controlled according to the operating condition of the engine on the collecting part of suction passages communicating with the second suction port of each cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Each cylinder of an engine is provided with two suction ports 3A, 3B closed or opened by suction valve 1A, 1B respectively. The first suction port 3A diverges from the downstream end of the first collector passage 21, and the second suction port 3B provided with a closing valve 4 diverges from the second collector passage 22. The upper stream ends of the first and the second collector passage 21, 22 are collected at the downstream side of a suction throttle valve 23, and a collecting end on the upper stream side of the second collector passage 22 is equipped with a control valve 24 to variably control the effective sectional area of a pass of the said passage 22. The control valve 24 is controlled so as to fully close in the range of speed slower than the fixed number of revolution, and to open wider with an increase in the number of engine revolution in the operating range of speed faster than the fixed number of revolution.
