<p>The device serves for conducting sporting/fun competitions in which the duration for which a loading force on a body part of the competitor in a prescribed position can be overcome is decisive, in particular for beer mug lifting competitions, and has for the/each competitor a standing place delimitation 3, a weight 15 which can be adjusted relative to the latter according to the individual physical dimensions of the competitor, and a display device 17. To achieve competition conditions which are fair, comprehensible and take account of the physical characteristics of the competitor, a support 12 for the weight 15, which consists in particular of a beer mug, is provided on a supporting arrangement 5, which support is adjustable in relation to the standing place delimitation 3 according to the individual physical dimensions of the competitor and on which the weight 15 rests, for example at eye level of the competitor, in a waiting position. The support 12 can be displaced out of its supporting position into a release position, so that the competitor can take the weight. Connected to the weight 15 is a sensor 16, 17 which responds to the released weight leaving a permitted holding area and operates the display device or stops a timekeeping arrangement started on the release of the weight 15 from the support 12. <IMAGE></p> |
