PURPOSE:To improve durability and manufacture quality, by connecting a metallic material with the periphery in one end part of a ceramic made sliding part to form a sliding member while tightening this sliding member to a recessed part, formed in a metallic base unit, to form a sliding structure. CONSTITUTION:Combined materials 22A, 22B, serving as a sliding member, are respectively secured to both upper and bottom end parts of a rod main unit 21. And each combined material 22A, 22B is formed by combining ceramics 23, brought into contact with a rocker arm or cam follower lever contact part, with a metallic material 24 for tightening said ceramics 23 to the end part of the rod main unit 21. While Si3N4 or the like is used for the ceramics 23, and the combined material forms a connection part 23a and a contact surface 23b on both side surfaces of the ceramics 23 while connects the metallic material 24 with the connection part 23a. Further recessed parts 25 are respectively formed in the both upper and bottom end parts of the rod main unit 21, and each combined material 22A, 22B is tightened to the end part of the rod main unit 21 further by fitting the metallic material 24 respectively to each recessed part 25. |
