PURPOSE:To save energy and to improve safety in an electric 'Kotatsu', by detecting the temperature in the 'Kotatsu' by a temperature sensor which is installed in an air a passage whether it is within the predetermined range of temperature or in the fluctuant state, and by controlling the temperature by a controller provided in the outside. CONSTITUTION:A temperature sensor 5 detects the temperature in a 'Kotatsu' whether it keeps a constant temperature or is in the fluctuant state. A controller which is provided in the outside processes the detected temperature and controls it to lower than the initially set temperature if the temperature in the 'Kotatsu' keeps a constant temperature. But when the temperature sensor 5 detects the fluctuant state in temperature because a person comes and opens a covering quilt to take warmth out of the 'Kotatsu' while the temperature in it is stabilized at a temperature lower than the initially set temperature, the controller controls to hold the temperature higher than the initially set temperature for a predetermined time, and then to lower it down to the initially set temperature.
