PURPOSE:To reduce the exposure of human body to radioactivity by a method wherein a pump is operated or air is poured into the heat exchanger to remove easily the sludge of the heat exchanger to the outsider thereof without dismantling the heat exchanger upon the periodical inspection of the heat exchanger or the like for nuclear electric power plant. CONSTITUTION:Flow of fluid in a cylinder 7 is stopped once and a valve 17 is opened to supply air into a pipeline 24 and inject the air against the bundle of pipes in the cylinder 7 and the lower surface of the cylinder through holes bored radially on a bubbler tube 14. Sediment at the bottom of the cylinder 7 and sludge or the like adhered to heat transfer tubes 8 are floated, then, the valve 17 is closed and valves 18, 19 are opened. Water in the cylinder 7, which contains the sludge being floated in the cylinder 7, is sucked through the holes of the bubbler pipe 14 by a pump 21 to collect them into a tank 15 through a piping 26. In the same manner, the bubbler tube 27 is arranged in the group of bundle of heat transfer tubes of the cylinder and thereby permitting to remove the sludge or the like adhered to the bundle of heat transfer tubes provided in the cylinder. |
