PURPOSE:To enable clear printing free of voids or missing in printed images to be performed even on a printing material having a considerable surface roughness, by laminating an extremely thin film on one side of a base film in the state of being releasable, providing a heat-fusible ink layer on the extremely thin film, and introducing only the extremely thin film to a printing part. CONSTITUTION:When a thermal transfer printing medium 7 supplied to a printer is fed to a point A immediately upstream of a printing part, an extremely thin film 2 having a heat-fusible ink layer 3 thereon is released from a base film 1, then only the film 2 is introduced to the printing part, is adhered to a printing material 4 having a considerable surface roughness, and a thermal head 5 is brought into contact with the film 2 to thereby give a clear print 6. The film 2 is preferably a colorless transparent film 1-2mum in thickness. The base film 1 may be an ordinary film 5-10mum thickness. For a favorable releasability, the base film and the extremely thin film are preferably formed of different materials. |
