PURPOSE:To miniaturize and lighten a color television and to reduce the deterioration in a picture quality by arranging a liquid crystal constituting a picture element two-dimensionally, transmitting a video signal outputted by an image pickup element to a liquid crystal color display element and driving the corresponding crystal every picture element. CONSTITUTION:In the CCD image pickup element 13, a CCD image pickup element driving circuit 17 is operated by the pulse from a pulse generating circuit 15 to amplify a signal charge and from a horizontal transfer CCD, thereafter, feeds it to an amplifier 14 as the video signal, amplifiers to a prescribed level and supplies to the liquid crystal color display element 200 in which the solid-state image pickup element 13 including a color filter 12 corresponds with the picture elements of the display element by one-to-one. Then, according to the pulse from the pulse generating circuit 15, a liquid crystal display element driving circuit 16 is operated, a prescribed line of a display part 20 is successively selected by a scanning circuit 18.
