The invention relates to a special jig and a method of manufacturing boxes of any shape. The special jig, making it possible to make the cover 1 exactly coincide with the perimeter of the box, when the rabbet 1a is produced, is obtained by superposing the plate of material 3, from which the jig has been cut out for producing the blank of the box, an intermediate plate 5 and the solid part 6 obtained when the internal part of the jib for making the blank of the box was cut out. The solid part 6 and the intermediate plate 5 are assembled by pegs 7 introduced in orifices 8 previously drilled through the solid part 6 and the intermediate part 5, using the jig for producing the blank of the box as a drilling jig.
