PURPOSE:To read digital data constantly effectively by recording a terminating part of a block obtained by dividing a digital data signal in the vicinity of a position to which a vertical synchronizing signal of the last of the frame of a corresponding video signal corresponds. CONSTITUTION:The frequency of the video signal and the sound signals of two channels are modulated by preemphasis circuits 1, 4, 5 and FM modulators 2, 6, 7, and thereafter they added in an adder 3. The prescribed position (vicinity of the vertical synchronizing signal one field before the frame to which the digital data signal corresponds) of the video signal is detected by a position detecting means 42 and a signal is outputted after a prescribed time after the detection. A memory 41 outputs the digital data accumulated and stored until then according to the signal from the means 42 and supplied to an EFM encoder 9. Then, it is inputted to the adder 3 through an LPF 10 and a preemphasis circuit 11.
