A reclosable pouch (10) having front and back walls (14, 16) and an opening (18) along its upper edge (20). A first fastener profile (22) is sealed on its ends to the exterior of the front wall of the pouch. The fastener profile extends longitudinally near the pouch opening. A second fastener profile (24) is sealed on its ends to the exterior of the back wall of the pouch. The first and second fastener profiles each have a rib member (26, 30) extending longitudinally thereon and a groove (28, 32) for reception of the oppositely disposed rib. The fastener profiles are adapted for interlocking with the front and back walls of the pouch being interposed therebetween. A method and apparatus for manufacturing the aforesaid pouches are also described herein. |
