发明名称 APPARATUS FOR DISCRIMINATING AND DETECTING HYDROGEN ISOTOPE GAS AND HELIUM GAS
摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to discriminate hydrogen isotope gas and helium gas and to measure the partial pressures of both gases, by detecting the back scattering characteristics on the surface of a solid of an accelerated deuterium ion, an accelerated hydrogen/tritium combined molecular ion and an accelerated helium ion. CONSTITUTION:A gaseous mixture consisting of deuterium (D2), a hydrogen/ tritium combined molecule (HT) and helium (He) is ionized in ion sources and D2<+>, HT<+> and He<+> ions are simultaneously accelerated by arbitrary energy with initial energy of about 0.5-3keV to be collided with a solid target. D2<+> and HT<+> ions are dessociated into atomic ions and neutrones which are, in turn, subjected to back scattering by the surface atom of the target. Because large difference appears between the energies of H<+>, D<+>, T<+> and He<+> after back scattering, the energy of each ion is analyzed at a specific scattering angle and the intensity of an ion current is detected and measured to make it possible not only to discriminate and detect each original ion seed but also to calculate the partial pressure of each ion species occupying in vacuum.
