摘要

PURPOSE:To simplify the recharging system by composing a retainer with fiber structure where water repellent resin and thin glass fibers are entangling each other thereby improving the permeability of oxygen gas in the retainer thus improving the oxygen gas absorbing capacity of negative plate. CONSTITUTION:Polytetra fluoroethylene 2 in the shape of thin fibers are entangling with glass fibers 1 and function as adhesive at the contacting points 3b between them and the contacting points 3a between the glass fibers 1. In this retainer, the glass fibers 1 and the electrolyte 5 are contacting tightly to hold sufficient electrolyte 5 between the fibers 1 while the polytetra fluoroethylene fibers 2 will repell the electrolyte 5 to provide gas phase 4 at the interface between the polytetra fluoroethylene 2 and the electrolyte 5. Since gas phase 4 is formed along the water repellent resin fiber 2, oxygen gas will easily permeate through the gas phase 4 and the retainer.
